Anna Ashum is a therapist with a Master's degree in Social Work from Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago. She is working toward licensure under the supervision of Reem K. Cutinello, LCSW. Anna believes that you can make the appropriate shifts to produce outcomes that bring growth, regardless of your past or current situations. She understands that reaching out for guidance can be challenging. Anna recognizes the variety of needs life brings and helps to find direction, identify and build on strengths, gain more focus, and set attainable goals to appropriately achieve and overcome what may be holding you back. She provides empathetic support to clients and travels with them through their journey of healing.
Anna uses creative methods customized for each child or adolescent and has a proven track record of effectively breaking down barriers to address individual needs to help achieve desired goals. She also offers insight into techniques that help guide parents whose children are exhibiting challenging behaviors. In order to better serve her clients, Anna continues to educate herself by utilizing classes and trainings to strengthen her skills. Anna's background includes individual, family, group, and play therapy in the areas of sexual abuse and assault, domestic violence, grief, anxiety disorders, depression, self-harm, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Autism/Aspergers, ADHD, self-esteem and self-awareness, and dating relationships. She also holds a 65 hour certification in sexual abuse and domestic violence. Anna provides services to children, adolescents, and adults.
